Start with your household, then your home.
Before comparing projects, check the buying route that applies to your household. Eligibility and priorities can differ for couples, families, singles and seniors. Your plans for marriage, employment, existing property and citizenship can affect the route.
- Use the current HDB eligibility guidance for your household.
- Apply for the relevant HFE assessment before the required application deadline.
- Agree on a comfortable budget and keep a reserve for life beyond the flat.
A launch is a decision, not a race.
Compare the neighbourhood, flat types, restrictions, expected wait and your finances. Look beyond a project illustration: planned amenities may not be operating when you move in, and application rates need to be read for your applicant category.
- Keep a short list of the things that matter to both of you.
- Read the official brochure and launch documents when available.
- Treat published estimates as estimates and check their source dates.
Expect a few distinct milestones.
Application, the result, flat booking, the Agreement for Lease and key collection are separate steps. Each has its own instructions and payments. Keep the official correspondence together and use a checklist that you can revisit as plans change.
- A queue number does not by itself guarantee a flat.
- Follow your own appointment and document instructions.
- Get to know your future neighbours while you wait.
