Preparing for key collection

A calm checklist for the appointment and the first visit to your new home.

Start with your personal instructions.

Use the official notification for your appointment, required documents, payments and actions to complete beforehand. Do not substitute another household’s key-collection experience for your own instructions.

Plan the first visit for inspection.

Leave time to familiarise yourself with the home, check its condition and document any concerns. Keep renovation and delivery plans flexible until you understand the inspection and reporting process that applies.

Give moving its own budget and timeline.

Keys are a milestone, while inspection, approvals, renovation, utilities, cleaning and moving can be separate tasks. Coordinate them around actual appointments and confirmed work rather than assuming everything can start on the same day.
